
Small Business Expert Brian Moran Named 2016 Hiscox Entrepreneur-in-Residence

Hiscox small business is excited to announce our 2016 Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR), Brian Moran. Brian is the founder and CEO of Brian Moran & Associates and served as our first-ever Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) in 2014. He is a trusted small business expert, dedicated to helping entrepreneurs run better businesses. As EIR, Brian will continue to share his small business expertise with the Hiscox Small Business Insurance community of small business owners and entrepreneurs. His previous posts focus on how to run businesses more efficiently, courageous women entrepreneurs, and utilizing social media to enhance business practices. In addition to posting informative and relevant content on the Hiscox small business blog, Brian will continue to participate in bi-monthly Twitter chats and serve as a resource across several social media networks.
Brian leverages his 20+ years of experience in publishing magazines for business owners at The Wall Street Journal, Inc. magazine, and Entrepreneur magazine to help entrepreneurs run better businesses. He also served as the former Executive Director for Sales Development at The Wall Street Journal. He assists business owners with everything from marketing to accessing growth capital and expanding into the global marketplace. Brian currently sits on several boards of entrepreneurial organizations, including: The Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council, United Athletes Foundation, and SCORE's National Marketing Council.
In August 2012, Brian received the prestigious Lou Campanelli Award at SCORE’s national conference in recognition for his years of service to the small business community. In 2012 and 2013 Brian was also named one of the top 100 SMB Influencers in the country by Small Business Trends and Small Biz Technology. In addition, just last year, Brian was given the 5th Annual Small Business Excellence Award by Irish Echo Newspaper, which recognizes Irish Americans who are entrepreneurial leaders and viewed as the backbone of the American economy. Brian is a graduate of Marquette University’s School of Journalism.
