Inclusion and Opportunity at Hiscox USA
People matter at Hiscox, and having a human approach to our work is important to us. Welcoming all of our employees’ perspectives and ideas enables us to harness the best talent, innovate, build resilience, and implement robust solutions and products that are well attuned to our customers. Inclusion isn’t only good for our bottom line; it makes Hiscox a great place to work for everyone. This is why Hiscox USA fosters an environment where all employees feel valued, heard, safe, and empowered. Some of our efforts include:
Parental leave for all: Paid parental bonding leave provides vital time for parents to care for and bond with their new child. All eligible employees at Hiscox USA are provided with six weeks of fully paid parental leave, including adoptive and foster parents. This sits alongside existing health benefits that aim to support work-life balance.
Flexible time off: We provide employees with a floating holiday each year so that they can have the flexibility to designate a day that best aligns with their values and practices. Employees also receive 2 additional paid-time-off days each year, “Hiscox Days”, intended to be used by employees to celebrate something that is special to them, such as a birthday, a religious festival, a family event; the reason is up to each employee. These days give additional flexibility and can even be donated to a colleague.
Talent: We always want to find, hire, retain, and grow the very best talent for each job, and our recruiters search for qualified candidates in the widest possible pool, utilizing a range of sources.
Training: Our training resources on various leadership topics are available for all, empowering our employees to learn the skills they need to build satisfying careers.
Employee Resource Groups: We have several groups in the US which help us build community. These are open to all employees.
