- 18 exclusions that are industry-standard for the CGL market have been added to this endorsement. A specimen endorsement is available and should be reviewed for understanding, but a few examples include:

- Water – excludes loss of or damage to Covered Property resulting from water, including but not limited to, flood, and seepage or leakage of water; however, if the loss of or damage to Covered Property from water results in fire, explosion, or theft, we will pay for the direct loss or damage caused by that fire, explosion, or theft if these causes of loss would have otherwise been covered by this endorsement.

3. Are the endorsements for new policies and renewals?
Yes. Existing customers will receive a ‘conditional renewal’ notice in accordance with their respective state’s statutes or Department of Insurance rules.
4. Will existing customers and their agents or brokers (if applicable) receive an email notification?
Renewal policy documents will contain a cover letter highlighting the new endorsement. They are emailed approximately 45 days before renewal.
Not at this time. Hiscox made the decision to change the policy’s terms and conditions rather than increase premium, so there is no option to remove the endorsement.
6. Is a premium credit included with the new/updated endorsements?
Not at this time.
All new business effective January 23, 2023 and later will have the new endorsement attached automatically. Renewals with May 20, 2023 effective dates and later will automatically have the new endorsement attached.
Yes. Quotes that are retrieved and bound after the implementation date will include the new endorsement.
