3 reasons why women entrepreneurs should go back to school
September 18, 2014
School is back in session. This is a great time for women business owners to increase their skills.
Work-at-Home-Moms and women business owners everywhere breathed a collective sigh of relief as their bright-eyed children went back to school this fall. After a long, lazy summer enjoying family vacations and day trips, we’re ready to dust off our goals and get our business mojo, and our me-time, back. All we need to do is pick up where we left off, fire up a Katy Perry song and we’ll be ready to finish the year strong. Woot! But wait, somewhere in between the water park and roller coaster ride, brain fog seeped in. Like our kids, we need training, resources, connections and some after-school fun (maybe a snack) to be more productive.
Here are three reasons why women entrepreneurs should go back to school:
- You’ll Make New Friends: Powerful connections are made when you get out of your bubble to spend a full day (or more) at a live training event. You’ll most likely have time to ask questions, brainstorm ideas, share a meal and continue the conversation with your new found friends over coffee, or a glass of wine. Look for opportunities to collaborate and create strategic partnerships with like-minded entrepreneurs who are a fit for your vision and your brand. Doritos and Taco Bell did it, and so can you.
- You’ll Stretch Your Brain: Sometimes we don’t know, what we don’t know. Going back to school will stretch your brain and comfort zone, while empowering you to give up all the excuses that have been holding you back. So, if social media gives you a headache, or you’re frustrated that your biz is not where you thought it would be, find a small biz training event and enroll today.
- You’ll Be More Creative: Remember feeling like Van Gogh after painting your first “masterpiece" in art class? The same thing happens to your brain when you attend a high-energy event filled with visionary leaders, thinkers and creators. You’ll create goals that you never dreamed of, like writing a book, launching a tele-summit or developing a new app. Send me a tweet when you do. I’ll help you get the word out.
And, if you’re in the New Jersey area, or feel like a road trip, join me at my one day event Visionista U: Small Biz Boot Camp on November 7!
