Small Business Advocate Tim Terrentine Shares What Leadership Means to Him

September 6, 2013

Tim Terrentine, president of the Kalamazoo Regional Chamber of Commerce, shares what it takes to be a great leader.

For the past month, we’ve highlighted small business owners and entrepreneurs sharing their thoughts about leadership. The Hiscox team spoke with these business owners at the annual Inc. Leadership Forum, which provides strategies for business growth through effective leadership.

Previously, we highlighted Nirmal Parikh, Founder and CEO of Digital Wavefront, and Philip Walker, CEO of Network Solutions Provider. Nirmal stressed the need for fostering future leaders and Philip shared how bootstrapping led to the cultivation of his leadership skills.

In this post, we hear from Tim Terrentine, president of the Kalamazoo Regional Chamber of Commerce in Michigan and vice president of Southwest Michigan First, an organization that serves as a catalyst for economic growth in Southwest Michigan. Tim and his team are focused on helping small businesses in Michigan grow. Ultimately, people want to be heard and Tim’s leadership style focuses on lending a listening ear. He also believes in finding out what makes people tick and facilitating a space to allow them to grow.
