Badir McCleary of Art:Above:Reality, Inc. shares his thoughts on the rise of entrepreneurship.
At Hiscox, we think insight from other business owners is one of the best ways to help your small business grow and become successful. Our most recent opportunity to connect with small business owners and entrepreneurs and get their insight was at the 2nd annual San Diego Entrepreneur Day.
During the event, we hosted a contest where small business owners had the chance to win prizes that would benefit their business. First place winner of our contest, Sarah Lynch of Beta Wolf Marketing, attended Ontrapalooza 2013, which is promoted as the ultimate event for business rock stars. Sarah said the conference, “was everything a female entrepreneur and small business owner needed to know.”
This week, we’re introducing our second place winner, Badir McCleary of Art:Above:Reality, Inc. Badir won an annual subscription to PitchEngine, a platform that allows users to create social media press releases.
Badir launched Art:Above:Reality in 2011 to give artistic entrepreneurs an outlet to showcase their work. The company serves as a media outlet for highlighting the work of creatives, as well as a networking destination.
Artists are encouraged to share their work along with tips, tools and secrets for other artists to become successful. As Badir noted during his video interview, “We want to celebrate artists when they’re alive, not once they have died.” See the video above for additional insight from Badir and how one of the biggest business risks he took almost landed him homeless.
